We have Opened a New Hospital! Click here to learn more.

Valleywise Health building for new location opening soon.

We opened a new medical center on June 13, 2024!.

Our new hospital, the Valleywise Health Medical Center, is right next door to our current hospital and continues to provide the very best care to our patients across Arizona, just as we’ve been committed to doing throughout our more than 140-year history.

We are honored to serve our community as Arizona’s only public teaching hospital, caring for hundreds of patients daily, and preparing the State’s next generation of much-needed health care providers.

The new hospital offers private patient rooms with private bathrooms, bright, airy views, and sleeper sofa/recliners to support family visits. We continue to offer state-of-the art facilities and services, including the Diane & Bruce Halle Arizona Burn Center, Cardiology, Emergency and Trauma, Maternity, NICU, Oncology, Pharmacy, Radiology, and more.

This was made possible by voter-approved Prop 480, which provided Valleywise Health $935 million in bonding authority to transform the Valley’s public teaching hospital and safety net system of care. Key improvements were also made possible by generous donors who support Valleywise Health’s mission.

We are ever grateful to our communities for allowing us the opportunity to serve our most vulnerable patients through their continued support of our health system’s mission.

What Inspires Us

After years of planning, building, waiting, practicing, and preparing, all the hard work came together as Valleywise Health Medical Center care teams moved more than 220 patients from the legacy “county” hospital into a state of the art, modern medical center. It all began at 3 a.m. on June 13, 2024, as one by one, the teams carefully moved patients in beds or wheelchairs from each unit – ending the day with the smallest patients from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), and pediatric departments. It took an average of 3 minutes to move each patient — more than twice as fast as anticipated! It was a collective effort across many teams and from many people. A true representation of Valleywise Health’s commitment to advancing healthcare, embracing innovation, and ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care in an environment designed to meet their needs. Providing exceptional care, without exception, every patient, every time.
