Our Cardiology Specialties
We offer comprehensive care for all heart-related diseases but also have specialized units dedicated to certain heart treatments.
Our state-of-the-art echocardiography lab provides highly detailed ultrasound images of your heart, so we can provide accurate diagnoses and optimal treatment plans.
Our labs perform a number of procedures and surgeries within these spaces. We are able to measure cardiac pressures, map and treat arrhythmias, treat coronary artery disease with angioplasty or stents, and place devices such as a pacemaker.
Electrophysiology Lab
Our electrophysiology lab uses state of the art equipment and techniques to evaluate heart rhythms, perform therapies for management and implant devices such as a pacemaker if needed.
What should I expect when I meet with my cardiologist for the first time?
You will discuss your medical history and symptoms, then your doctor will perform a thorough evaluation. After that, you’ll discuss your next steps and any additional tests you may need.
What do you use to diagnose and treat patients?
At Valleywise Health, we rely on state-of-the-art technology to safely diagnose and treat our patients. Cardiac imaging tools may include X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, PET and SPECT scans.
What types of treatment procedures do you offer?
Our interventional cardiologists and other vascular specialists can perform minimally invasive procedures, such as stent implantation via small catheters threaded through a small blood vessel in your arm or leg. Minimally invasive methods use minuscule incisions and allow for a speedier, less painful recovery. We also offer expertise in electrical functions of the heart, including permanent pacemaker and defibrillator implants, as well as ablation procedures that can treat and cure certain heart rhythm conditions.
How can I avoid heart disease?
Roughly 48% of Americans have some type of heart disease, but 80% of these conditions are preventable by controlling certain risk factors.
If you eat healthy, exercise often, minimize smoking and drinking, practice stress management and get screened regularly, you can prevent most forms of heart disease.
