About Hepatitis C
Hepatitis C is an infection caused by a virus that attacks and damages the liver. The virus is spread from person to person through contaminated blood, such as sharing needles or from mother to baby.

Valleywise Health is proud to partner with Care1st Health Plan Arizona, a WellCare Company, to launch the first Hepatitis C Center of Excellence for Medicaid members in Maricopa County. Through the partnership, Care1st Health Plan Arizona collaborates with the care team at Valleywise Health to offer you high quality treatment.
Service Details
Those who qualify will be given antiviral medication targeted at the hepatitis C virus. The medication, which is taken daily for 8-12 weeks, is covered by Care1st Health Plan Arizona and is available to Medicaid members at no cost. Prescriptions will be processed at the pharmacy located at the Valleywise Comprehensive Health Center – Phoenix.
Once you start your care at Valleywise Health, doctors and care managers will follow up to make sure everything is going well after you receive your medication. Once you finish the treatment, you will have repeat testing to ensure the hepatitis C virus is no longer present.
Valleywise Health will also help connect you with other programs that may benefit you, including housing, food, transportation assistance and more. The goal of providing these services is to give you the best chance of benefiting from your medical treatment.

Treatments are performed at the Gastroenterology (GI) Clinic at the Valleywise Comprehensive Health Center in Phoenix, located at 2525 E. Roosevelt St, Phoenix AZ 85008.
