Nurturing Growing Smiles, Every Step of the Way
Nurturing Growing Smiles, Every Step of the Way
At Valleywise Health, we believe a healthy smile is part of a healthy childhood. Our pediatric dental team is here from your child’s very first tooth through their teenage years, offering care that grows with them. Each visit is designed not only to protect teeth and gums, but also to give families the knowledge and confidence they need to support good oral health at home.
Routine check-ups, gentle cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants help keep teeth strong while teaching kids that the dentist can be a positive, even fun, experience.
When problems do arise, we provide fillings, crowns, space maintainers, and extractions with compassion and care. From playful language to calming techniques, our pediatric dentists ease anxiety and build trust, helping kids feel safe and supported. For children who need extra help, nitrous oxide is available, allowing them to relax and feel secure while receiving care. Our goal is to take the fear out of dental visits and make every child proud of their smile.
A child’s first dental appointment sets the tone for years to come. That’s why we create an atmosphere where kids feel comfortable, parents feel reassured, and healthy habits take root early.
Parents are welcome to stay with their child during the visit. Our team takes time to share tips on brushing, nutrition, and cavity prevention, so families feel prepared to build healthy routines at home.
No matter your child’s age or needs, our team offers gentle, effective treatments designed to protect growing teeth and support lifelong oral health.

Try to reach the dentist within 30–60 minutes for the best chance of saving the tooth.
We’re happy to work with a variety of private and public insurance plans to make your child’s care affordable. If you don’t have dental insurance, our Financial Counselors can help you explore options like our sliding fee scale, which may lower costs based on your income.
At your child’s first visit, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan and provide a good-faith estimate so you know what to expect before treatment begins.
We accept many private and public insurance plans as well as a variety of payment methods. Our Financial Counselors can help you understand your options and determine what works best for you.
For patients with AHCCCS under 21 years of age, most dental treatment is fully covered. We can verify your benefits before treatment so you’ll know about any potential out-of-pocket costs.
For patients with AHCCCS age 21 and older, AHCCCS only offers a limited dental emergency benefit. If you are in pain or have a dental infection, please don’t delay—contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to make sure you get the care you need.
Because insurance coverage can vary widely, we encourage you to reach out to your insurance provider for a list of covered services and yearly maximums.
Our Patient Access Center answers calls at any time. However, the quickest way to receive care is to visit the Valleywise Health Medical Center or contact your clinic as soon as it opens in the morning.
Your need for exams and cleanings depends on your individual oral health. Most people benefit from being seen once or twice a year, but we’ll make more specific recommendations after completing a comprehensive exam to determine your risk and level of need.
Post-operative instructions are reviewed at every visit. Please follow those carefully, and most importantly, let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We encourage you to come back to see us if anything doesn’t feel right.
Please tell us! It helps to know your specific concerns, especially if you’ve had negative experiences in the past. We want to make sure your treatment is safe and as comfortable as possible.
For emergency visits—including those at our walk-in clinic at Phoenix CHC–we may be able to address your urgent needs the same day. Often, we can extract broken, infected, or painful teeth right away. In some cases, we may refer you to a specialist or schedule you for a follow-up appointment if your needs can’t be accommodated immediately.
For routine care, your first visit is typically a comprehensive exam to determine your needs, and specific treatments are scheduled for future visits.
