When your child is in need of emergency care, the only thing on your mind is getting them the help they need as quickly as possible. You can breathe easy knowing we’ll be here to care for them every step of the way.
When you bring in your child for emergency treatment, we know time is of the essence. We’re just as concerned about your child’s health and well-being as you are, and you can count on us to offer them the care, comfort and compassion they need to heal.
Our pediatric emergency patients are treated around the clock with prompt and dedicated care according to their specific needs. They are always given follow-up referrals for continued care when necessary. The Valleywise Health Pediatric Emergency Department provides care for infants, children, and adolescents up to age 17.
Valleywise Health is certified as a Pediatric Prepared Advanced Care Emergency Department. This is a highly prestigious recognition presented through a collaboration between the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AzAAP). This designation represents the highest level of Pediatric Prepared Emergency Care certification, where we had to meet rigorous standards, including the requirement that 100% of our nursing staff must have advanced pediatric emergency care training. This reinforces our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care to our community and is a source of pride for the entire team.
The PPEC program is a partnership between hospitals, physicians, nurses, and emergency personnel, AzAAP and the Emergency Medical Services for Children program at the Arizona Department of Health Services.
