Acute Emergency Care
Acute care refers to short-term treatment for severe injuries, episodes of illness or other urgent medical conditions. This includes:
- Traumas (including burn, penetrating trauma and blunt trauma)
- Broken bones
- Heart and asthma attacks
- Head injuries
Chronic Medical Care
Chronic emergency medical care refers to treatment of pre-existing or long-term illnesses. Patients who are treated for chronic medical conditions in our clinic have either been previously diagnosed or are given a diagnosis in our care based on emergency symptoms. Common chronic medical conditions include:
- Diabetes
- Asthma
- Gastrointestinal diseases
Pediatric Acute Care
The Pediatric Acute Care Unit provides inpatient services for newborns, infants, children and adolescents up to the age of 18.
We admit pediatric patients on referral from physicians and hospitals throughout Arizona and from Valleywise Health clinics, trauma services, operating rooms and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Easing your child’s pain is a top priority, and we’ll work hard to develop a pain management plan that’s best for them. We’ll also provide a sedation service if your child ever needs painful treatments or diagnostic tests.
