When you or a loved one need help in a medical emergency, the only thing on your mind should be getting the care you need as soon as possible. You can trust us to offer that care any time you need it – no exceptions.

Your healing is always our top priority when you come to our ER. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, our Adult Emergency Department provides specialized, attentive emergency medical care for all adults over age 18.

As soon as you arrive, one of our nurses will meet you and help you smoothly and quickly begin your care in the ER. We see patients in order of severity, but don’t worry – even if you have a less-serious condition, we will always make sure you’re seen as quickly as possible.

In our emergency department you will meet nurses, technicians, resident physicians (doctors in training), attending physicians (doctors who have completed training), student doctors and specialists. We are all dedicated to helping you get better in any way you need.

Acute Emergency Care

Adult Emergency Department/Trauma Room

Our emergency department and trauma room treats a variety of emergency conditions, including chest pain, stroke, asthma, infections, injuries resulting from car accidents, burns, fractures, and more.

Depending on your condition when you leave the hospital, you will be given educational materials to help you understand your condition.

Chronic Emergency Care

The emergency department also cares for patients needing immediate attention for chronic conditions such as:

Gastrointestinal diseases
And other issues

Acute Medical Care

At Valleywise Health, we provide acute care to patients who need short-term treatment for a severe injury or illness, an urgent medical condition or during recovery from surgery.

Our Acute Care department deals with a wide range of services, with specialties including hematology, oncology, orthopedics, cardiology, psychiatry, nephrology, multiple trauma, infectious disease, urology, general surgery and more.

We also offer rehabilitation services such as:

Physical therapy
Occupational therapy
Speech therapy
Respiratory therapy

Point-of-Care Ultrasound

You deserve to be on your way to healing as quickly as possible, and that starts with a timely, accurate diagnosis. In our Emergency Department, we use Point-of-Care Ultrasounds, a portable ultrasound machine that helps us diagnose your symptoms and give you proper treatment more quickly.

Continued Care

Whether your visit is for a medical emergency or for chronic or acute medical care, our staff will provide you with follow-up referrals for necessary continued care.
