At Valleywise Health, quality, safety and service are at the core of everything we do.

At Valleywise Health, we believe everyone our community deserves access to high-quality health care, without exception. To fulfill this need, our organization embraces practice and process improvements based on scientific evidence, and we listen to our patients, their family and the public. Our leadership team, staff members, volunteers and patients actively participate in the process of quality improvement. At Valleywise Health, it is the responsibility of everyone on our health care team to help create a culture of quality.

Valleywise Health participates in the following hospital rating programs:

Det Norske Veritas Accreditation (DNV)

DNV Accreditation requires an annual survey and the organization’s continual compliance with the DNV process. Focusing on quality, innovation and continual improvement, DNV accredits health care providers across the U.S. including multi-hospital systems, community hospitals, teaching institutions and regional medical centers. Valleywise Health is ISO-9001 accredited through DNV. (This standard is based on a variety of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001:2015 helps ensure that patients get consistent, good quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.)

National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI)

More than 2,000 U.S. hospitals and 98 percent of Magnet®-recognized facilities participate in the NDNQI program. This program measures nursing quality, improves nurse satisfaction, strengthens the nursing work environment, assesses staffing levels and improves reimbursement under current pay for performance policies. With powerful unit-level data, NDNQI enables action planning and intervention for specific units that need improvement. NDNQI helps hospitals achieve the highest levels of nursing performance by tracking progress and meeting data requirements for the Magnet Recognition Program®.

American Hospital Association (AHA)

AHA partners with state hospital associations including The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA). AHA is a professional association that seeks to promote quality health care provision by hospitals and health care networks through public policy. AHA also promotes quality health care by providing information about health care and health administration to health care providers and the public.
