Valleywise Health announced today the opening of its newest, state-of‐the‐art Valleywise Community Health Center – North Phoenix at 19th and Northern Avenues. This is the most recent addition in the expansion of its network of community health centers as the safety net health system continues to act on its mission to bring quality, convenient and affordable health care options directly to communities in need. The new facility will replace their current location on Hatcher and all current patients will be transitioned to the new location.
The 26,000‐square‐foot facility offers an extensive line of services, including primary and pediatric care, OB/GYN, radiology and behavioral health. In‐person and telehealth appointments are available with all COVID‐19 guidelines being followed for in‐person visits. There are also on‐site laboratory services along with a pharmacy where prescriptions can be filled, providing an extra level of convenience for patients.
“We have always been recognized for our exceptional care, and now with state‐of‐the‐art facilities like this in Sunnyslope, current and new patients will experience the Valleywise Health difference,” said Steve Purves, President and CEO of Valleywise Health. “Having served this neighborhood for many years, we understand what the needs of the community are and with a larger facility and expanded services, our staff and District Medical Group physicians look forward to expanding the care we can provide to families of North Phoenix.”
This is the most recent addition to Valleywise Health’s network of 12 community health centers spread across Maricopa County. It is made possible thanks to voters who overwhelmingly supported Proposition 480 in 2014. The ballot measure provided funding for the transformation of the Valley’s only public teaching hospital and safety net system of care. The North Phoenix and Laveen locations are the first to open, with a 126,000‐square foot comprehensive health center in Peoria opening in late January 2021.
“Valleywise Health has always been that trusted provider of quality, affordable health care conveniently located for our patients,” said Barbara Harding, Senior VP of Ambulatory Services at Valleywise Health. “These new facilities allow us to better serve our patients in a beautiful, versatile and efficient setting and look forward to opening our doors to our current and new patients in North Phoenix.”
