John Green, MD, completed medical school at University of Cincinnati, internship at Michigan State University in general surgery, orthopaedic residency at Michigan State University/McLaren Regional Medical Center and fellowship at Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center. He is dual Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in both orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine.
Dr. Green, a District Medical Group (DMG) physician is available for consultation at Valleywise Health. He treats all levels of athletes from the occasional weekend warrior to elite level for any sports related injury. An expert in repair and reconstruction of ligaments and tendons, Dr. Green performs arthroscopic and open surgery of the following joints:
- Knees
- Elbows
- Ankles
- Shoulders
- Hips
He maintains research interests focusing on knee and shoulder instability and arthroscopic skill development. Dr. Green has been recognized for outstanding clinical care by multiple local and national organizations, culminating in an Albert Nelson Marquis lifetime achievement award in 2018.
