Neelesh Anand, MD, received his Bachelor of Health Sciences in Physiology, Magna Cum Laude, from The University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. He also earned his medical doctorate (MD) degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. During medical school, Dr. Anand was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society for the classes’ top students.
Following medical school, Dr. Anand completed his anesthesiology residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Following residency, he further specialized by completing a Pain Medicine fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to working at Valleywise Health, he was an attending physician and assistant professor in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He is double board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Anand is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. His work in regional anesthesiology and chronic pain medicine has been published and presented around the country. He is also an avid lecturer on the topics of trauma anesthesiology, regional anesthesiology, and chronic pain medicine.
