Valleywise Health has been recertified as an OSHA VPP “STAR Site” – the only Arizona hospital recognized for having the highest safety standards by the Arizona Department of Occupational Safety and Health.
VPP is OSHA’s highest level of recognition for US employers, recognizing the best of the best in employee safety. Valleywise Health has been a member of the VPP program since 2013.
“The renewal of our VPP Star designation recognizes Valleywise Health’s standing in an elite group of facilities that consistently provide exemplary safety and health protection for our employees,” said Steve Purves, President and CEO. Of the 60 VPP Star sites in Arizona, only 24 have received the five-year recertification.
An ADOSH team recently conducted a four-day survey of Valleywise Health and interviewed 292 employees. All the comments from the survey team were extremely positive, recognizing the commitment of the entire Valleywise Health team as they traveled through the organization. At the conclusion, surveyors recommended re-accreditation for five years, the maximum allowed for this recognition.
