Ana Pereira Named Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Valleywise Health

Valleywise Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Ana Pereira as the new Vice President of Marketing & Communications. Pereira brings more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, marketing, and public relations, making her an integral part of the system’s leadership team as it continues to enhance healthcare delivery across Maricopa County.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ana to Valleywise Health,” said Steve Purves, President and CEO. “Ana brings a rare combination of strategic communications leadership, media credibility and a deep commitment to public service. Her experience connecting with diverse communities and translating complex issues into clear, actionable information will strengthen how we engage with patients, families and the public.”

Pereira joins Valleywise Health from the City of Mesa, where she served as Director of Communications for Arizona’s third-largest city, leading media relations, crisis communications, digital strategy and executive messaging. Ana worked closely with elected officials and city leadership to deliver transparent, accessible information on city services, council ordinances, municipal programs and community events.

Before joining Mesa, Pereira was vice president of client services at Urias Communications, where she led multicultural marketing and public relations campaigns for health care, education and other highly regulated industries. She also served as Outreach Director for Senator John McCain’s 2016 reelection campaign. Additionally, Pereira’s career includes extensive work in broadcast journalism as a Spanish-language reporter and producer for Telemundo and Univision affiliate stations in Phoenix, Orlando and Boston.

“At the heart of my career has always been a commitment to making sure people have access to clear and reliable information,” Pereira said. “Whether it is a patient navigating the health care system or a family making everyday decisions about their well-being, communication should empower people. I am honored to bring that mission to an organization so deeply committed to delivering excellent healthcare to everyone, regardless of their life circumstance.”

A native of Venezuela, Pereira is bilingual in English and Spanish and holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College in Boston.
