Here are some common questions you may have when preparing for your Telehealth appointment:
Can I make a telehealth appointment if I’m a new patient?
Current patients are welcome to book a telehealth appointment at Valleywise Health. If you are new to Valleywise Health, we want to see you in person first to establish care!
What equipment do I need to take my telehealth call?
All you need is a phone or computer with an internet connection. If you are a Medicare or Medicare HMO patient, video access is required.
Which doctors/departments are available by telehealth?
While many of our doctors are available by telehealth, we recommend calling us first at 833-VLLYWSE (833-855-9973) to confirm that your doctor offers this service. However, most of our locations and specialty services offer some degree of telehealth services, including our HIV/AIDS clinic. Telehealth visits are only available for patients 18 years and older.
Can I get a diagnosis from my doctor over a virtual call?
Many times, yes. Our Valleywise Health doctors are equipped to perform general examinations over video calls and can make treatment suggestions based on your conversation. In some cases, you may need to book an in-person appointment for follow-up, and all copays will be due at the time of the visit.
Do I have to be in the state of Arizona to have a virtual visit?
Yes
Is this service safe?
Your safety is our highest priority and all information you share during the virtual visit with your doctor will be kept confidential in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Health Insurance Portability/Continuity and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
