Emergency Department
The Valleywise Health adult and pediatric emergency departments provide full-service emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We strive to address everyone who enters the ED with compassion and respect while caring for their needs. We see patients in order of severity and provide a fast track to help patients with less-serious conditions be seen quickly. Our high trained emergency medical staff includes board certified physicians, medical residents, and registered nurses. We provide chronic care, acute medical care and continued care and we also use top technology, such as our Point-of-Care Ultrasound machines that help us cut both costs and time for patients
Trauma Department
Valleywise Health Medical Center is the only hospital in Maricopa County verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) to provide adult (Level I) and pediatric trauma care. That means we keep families together in their hour of need by offering comprehensive trauma care for all who enter our doors. Our trauma service has 24-hour, in-house coverage by highly specialized physicians and nurses prepared for the immediate treatment of critically injured patients. All Valleywise Health trauma surgeons hold dual board certification in general surgery and surgical critical care.
